Best Alaska Sports Betting Sites & Apps 2025
There are no legal sports betting options currently available in Alaska. The state’s gambling activity is limited to Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), bingo, and dogsledding. Bingo and betting on dogsledding are only available through charitable organizations.
However, following the Supreme Court ruling in 2018 that the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was unconstitutional, the state’s lawmakers have made some efforts towards establishing a sports betting industry in Alaska.

The most recent effort saw Governor Mike Dunleavy propose two bills in 2020. SB 188 and HB 246 would legalize multiple forms of gambling including sports betting and the establishment of a state lottery. The bills were collectively known as The Alaska Lottery Corporation Act but neither made it before the senate or the house for discussion as the legislature was forced to close early due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, with the governor taking a very pro-gambling stance and keen to see the state reap the rewards of an additional revenue stream, it’s highly likely that similar bills will be introduced again in the near future.
Who regulates the Alaska sports betting industry?
Although there is currently no sports betting industry in the state, the governor’s proposed legislation known as The Alaska Lottery Corporation Act would have established a state lottery. It’s likely that if a similar act is passed in the future, the state lottery will regulate the sports betting industry.
Which sportsbooks are available in Alaska?
There are no sportsbooks currently available in Alaska. As there are no existing casinos in the state nor gambling legislation, it’s difficult to predict which operators would enter the market and how they would operate.
We will update this section as further news of sports betting legislation and potential operators is released.
Sports betting apps in Alaska
With the state having no class III casinos, it’s unclear where retail sportsbooks would be located. This would suggest that a mobile market would be essential should sports betting legislation be passed.
However, once again, it’s impossible to say which online operators will enter the market.
We will update this section if mobile sports betting becomes legal in the state.
Daily Fantasy Sports in Alaska
While Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contests are not officially legalized or regulated by the state, the authorities have chosen to simply ignore operators who allows Alaskan players to register on their platforms.
This means that many of the leading DFS providers including DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo! operate within the state.
What about online poker in Alaska?
As we mentioned earlier, there are no casinos or card rooms in Alaska meaning that there’s no live poker scene at all. This makes it extremely unlikely that online poker legislation will be introduced in the near future. However, if the state were to establish a lottery and online sports betting industry, lawmakers may be open to discussing online casino gaming legislation. That could be a long way off though.
