Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been announced as a global ambassador for Betway.

Henry, 47, is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all-time and depending on who you ask, is sometimes referred to as the best to ever play in the Premier League.

The Frenchman becomes the latest face of the Betway brand, one of the biggest UK betting sites founded nearly two decades ago with headquarters in Malta.

According to the firm, Henry will provide his opinions on football’s biggest stories exclusively on the Betway Insider.

Neal Menashe, Chief Executive Officer of Super Group, the holding company for Betway, said:

“Thierry Henry is a true football legend and sporting great, and it is with immense pleasure that we welcome him into the Betway family of ambassadors and partners.

“Our deal with Thierry’s former-club Arsenal has been a flagship part of our marketing strategy over the last two years.

“We look forward to sharing his expert insights and exclusive content with our customers across the world.”

Nowadays, Henry can be seen as a regular pundit on the popular ‘UCL Today’ show by CBS Sports.

Henry added: “Football’s always been about action and excitement, and that’s what Betway brings to fans in a unique way.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of something that connects people to the game they love.”

Betway’s list of ambassadors also includes former South African cricket captain Graeme Smith, Republic of Ireland legend Robbie Keane, as well as up-and-coming horse racing trainer Ross O’Sullivan.

Earlier this year, the sports betting app announced partnerships with six major sports franchises in the United States such as the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls.

The company is active in Europe too, holding deals with Premier League outfits Manchester City, Arsenal and Brighton alongside La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
