Crypto sportsbook and online casino Playbet.io has announced UK rapper Dizzee Rascal as its new brand ambassador.
Playbet CEO Miguel Almeida commented on the partnership, “It gives us great pleasure to reveal our alliance with Dizzee Rascal, one of the most venerable names in the music business. Dizzee is a real success icon, having enthralled millions of people all around. We are happy to have him as the most recent Playbet.io ambassador.”
“This cooperation marks an exciting chapter for us, and we are confident it’s going to be a hit,” he also added.
As part of the deal, Dizzee Rascal will feature in live streams and co-create promotional content for the crypto casino. The rapper, who has generated a big following in his 20-year career, expressed his excitement at the collaboration, stating,
“I’m excited to partner with Playbet and be a part of this innovative experience. Like me, I enjoy to be involved in anything creative and Playbet is doing worldwide is major activity. Let the fun start!”
Playbet looking to grow presence in crypto betting
Playbet launched in June 2024 and is attempting to grow its presence in the crypto gambling industry. It offers over 4500 casino games as well as the ability to bet on sports using cryptocurrencies.
As a relatively new player in the industry, the site is estimated to have generated around $1 million in revenue in its first year of operation. The partnership with Dizzee Rascal will look to increase its presence in the industry, in much the same way that Stake has grown its reach through its partnership with Drake.
Drake signed a deal worth over $100 million with Stake, and his live betting streams on the platform attract as many as 200,000 viewers. In one session, he gave away $1 million in Bitcoin.
Stake is the benchmark for companies like Playbet, with the company generating $4.7 billion in revenue last year. The entire crypto casino industry is estimated to have generated over $80 billion in revenue in 2024.
Other sponsorship deals
Playbet also sponsors the Italian soccer team Como 1907. The company announced the multi-year partnership in January this year, with CMO Almeida commenting, “Playbet.io is thrilled to collaborate with the historic club Como 1907. We are confident this collaboration will be a resounding success and Playbet.io would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all the passionate fans of Como 1907!”
As part of the sponsorship, Playbet features prominently on LED advertisements in Como’s stadium. The club was promoted to Serie A, the top league in Italian soccer, in 2024 following a 21-year absence. In their first season back, they finished in 10th place.
The sponsorship of a soccer team is also a move made by Stake, with the company sponsoring Everton FC in the Premier League. Both companies are licensed in Curacao and although they are not allowed to officially operate in the UK or Italy, the sponsorship deals aim to increase global awareness of the brands.
