Online gaming and sports betting operators PointsBet has announced that it has received approval from the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement to launch its iGaming platform in the state.

The news follows the recent successful launch of the PointsBet iGaming platform in Michigan on May 5th 2021 and will see an online casino added to the operator’s existing sports betting products available in New Jersey.

Speaking of the announcement, PointsBet CEO and Managing Director Sam Swanell said:

“We are thrilled to be able to expand our igaming presence in the United States and bring our proprietary online casino product to the robust New Jersey market.

“The continued growth of our igaming presence further advances our ability to acquire and retain premium clients, complementing our existing sports wagering products.”

PointsBet President of Product Technology, Manjit Gombra Singh went on to add:

“I am proud of our igaming team for a successful expansion into New Jersey following what has been a tremendous introduction of our proprietary online casino product in Michigan.

“We are excited for what the future holds and welcome the opportunity to continuously improve and expand the online casino presence at PointsBet.”

Since launching its sports betting product in New Jersey in 2019, PointsBet has launched in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan. The company also has plans in place to launch in several other markets including Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia. These launches are dependent on regulatory and licensing approval and/or the passing of sports wagering legislation.

The iGaming platform launch in New Jersey is the latest in a series of efforts to strengthen the brand’s position in the USA. The operator’s most recent move saw NFL superstar Drew Brees sign a cash and equity deal with the company.
