Australian online bookmaker PointsBet Holdings Limited has confirmed that it is currently in talks with NTD Pty Limited (NTD), the owners and operators of Australian sports wagering operator Betr, about the potential acquisition of its Australian trading business.

In a press release issued via the PointsBet investor relations website portal, the company confirmed the talks while noting that it routinely evaluates proposals from third parties as part of its efforts to maximize value for shareholders.

The release went on to add that the talks with NTD are preliminary and incomplete, and there is no guarantee that they will lead to a binding transaction.

PointsBet will fulfill its obligation to keep the market informed of any developments in accordance with its continuous disclosure requirements.

Betr recently pulled out of the race for the Western Australia tab license after being chosen as the preferred bidder. The company was also fined last month for social responsibility failures that included the targeting of a known self-excluding gambler.
