The Virginia Lottery has released its latest monthly revenue report for the state’s casino industry which currently comprises one land-based casino — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol.
November saw Hard Rock Bristol generate almost $13 million in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) from casino games at its temporary facility on the site of the for Bristol Mall. The latest figures represent a 10.5% drop from the $14.1 million reported in October.
The casino’s 870 slot machines generated AGR of $10,410,087.22 while 21 table games generated $2,240,274.00. This brings the total AGR to $ from 891 games. This resulted in approximately $2.3 million in taxes for the state.
Breakdown of the distribution of taxes:
- Regional Improvement Commission (6% of AGR) — $759,021.67
- Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund (0.8% of total tax) — $18,216.52
- Family and Children’s Trust Fund (0.2% of total tax) — $4,554.13
- Remaining available in the Gaming Proceeds Fund — $1,495,272.70
- Total Tax — $2,277,065.02
Virginia’s retail casino industry launched in July of 2022 when the Hard Rock Bristol opened its temporary casino facility, boosting the number of American casinos available.
