DraftKings has kicked-off its month-long campaign to promote responsible play by offering NFL regular-season tickets plus a shot at a seat at SuperBowl LX in a series of weekly sweepstakes.

Responsible Gaming Education Month is an initiative backed by the American Gaming Association and is active throughout September.

For DraftKings, its campaign swung into action on August 26 as part of Monday Night Football and will continue on to the end of next month.

The promotion launched by the US sports betting giant is centred around weekly sweepstakes, with the chance of winning NFL tickets for customers who are active on its responsible gaming tools such as My Stats Sheet and My Budget Builder.

DraftKings’ Responsible Gaming Tools

My Stat Sheet was launched over a year ago and DraftKings estimate that up to 3.4 million of its customer base have used the tool to review their gaming activity.

The companion tool, My Budget Builder, was activated in June of this year to assist users in setting their own financial limits around their account and betting habits.

Customers who use My Budget Builder between August 26 and September 8, following the first Monday Night Football game, will have the chance to win NFL regular-season tickets.

In the following two weeks there will be additional chances to win two more pairs of NFL regular-season tickets for users who set reminders or engage with the Smart Betting Tips tool in the Responsible Gaming Center.

In the final week of the campaign, customers who use My Stat Sheet will be entered to win the grand prize, which DraftKings has called “an unforgettable trip to SuperBowl LX”.

The campaign was heralded by Lori Kalani, chief responsible gaming officer at DraftKings.

“We are excited to launch our sweepstakes initiative in celebration of Responsible Gaming Education Month, inviting customers to explore our tools in a fun and engaging way,” she said.

“As a leading operator, we are committed to providing customers with tools that support responsible play and enhance their experience.

“This campaign recognizes and celebrates customers who use these resources, helping to foster a more informed and responsible gaming culture.

“Responsible gaming has been part of the DraftKings experience from day one, and we are proud to continue building on that foundation as the industry evolves.”

DraftKings Sets Quarterly Revenue Records

It has been a buoyant period for the sports betting app and fantasy game specialists.

DraftKings set new quarterly records including $1.5 billion revenue in the second quarter of this year.

The Boston-headquartered sportsbook reported second quarter revenue of $1.513 billion, an increase of 37% year-over-year, with a net income of $158 million and EBITDA of $301 million.

Earlier this month it was one of three operators to present final pitches for direct sports betting licenses in Missouri and was awarded one of the two untethered licenses available along with Circa Sports, while sports betting rival FanDuel missed out.

“We set records for revenue, net income and Adjusted EBITDA in the second quarter, driven by an acceleration in revenue growth to 37% year-over-year,” said Jason Robins, DraftKings’ CEO and co-founder.

“We are pleased to be maintaining our fiscal year 2025 guidance, with revenue expected to be closer to the high end of our range, highlighting the strength of our platform as we prepare for an exciting new state launch.”
