Indiana Sports Betting Handle Grows by 21.4% to Over $316 Million in March

The Indiana Gaming Commission has released its latest monthly revenue report showing that the state's sportsbooks posted a sports betting handle of $316,717,762.

The Indiana Gaming Commission has released its latest monthly revenue report revealing that the state’s sportsbooks posted a sports betting handle of $316,717,762 in March.

The latest figure marks a 21.4 % rise on February’s handle of $273,893,073 and is the second largest handle since sports betting went live in September 2019. January 2021 still holds the record with a handle of $348,244,676.

Adjusted gross revenue came in at $26,350,639 generating $2,503,311 in taxes for the state.

The market leader was the Ameristar Casino taking in $120,414,215 in sports wagers. This was almost $30 million more than closest rival Blue Chip Casino who posted a handle of $92,409,340.

Basketball was once again the most wagered on sport with Indiana bettors placing $160,741,256 on both the NBA and college basketball. The NFL accounted for just $13,525,179 of the total handle.
