The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has released its latest monthly revenue report revealing that the state’s casinos reported combined revenues of $1.2 billion during the month of April.
According to the report, NV casinos’ combined revenues mark an increase of 2.8% year-on-year and a 7.6% decrease on the $1.3 billion reported during March. This is now the 26th month in a row that gambling operators have generated more than a $1 billion in revenues and only the fifth time that they have done so in April.
Revenues on the Strip came to $624.7 million reflecting a 5.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and a drop of 13.7% on the $724.5 million reported during the previous month.
Casinos in Clark County accounted for $995 in combined revenues , a significant drop from the $1.17 billion reported in the previous month. April was the first time in 11 months that Clark County failed to top the $1 billion mark in revenues.
Taxes collect during the month mean that for the fiscal year 2023, the total tax collected is up by less than 1% to $886.9 million.
Sports betting
Nevada sports betting operators reported $32.4 million in revenue during April, this was an increase of almost 28% year-on-year. Sportsbooks accepted $598 million in wagers during the month representing an increase of 3% compared to April 2022.
Sportsbook operators reported a win (hold) percentage of 5.4% during the month, compared with 4.3% in April of last year.
Wagers placed through mobile apps and online sportsbooks accounted for 66% of all sports bets during the month.
