The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has released its latest monthly revenue report revealing that the state’s casinos reported combined revenues of $1.28 billion during the month of May.
According to the report, NV casinos’ combined revenues mark a decrease of 0.84% year-on-year and an 6.6% increase on the $1.2 billion reported during April. This is now the 27th month in a row that gambling operators have generated more than a $1 billion in revenues.
Revenues on the Strip came to $715.9 million reflecting a 2.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2023 and an increase of 14.5% on the $624.7 million reported during the previous month.
Casinos in Clark County accounted for $1.1 billion in combined revenues, a 1% drop year-on-year.
Taxes collect during the month came to $84.2 million reflecting a decrease of 1.69% compared to May 2022. This means that in the financial year-to-date, the state has collected $971.18 million in taxes.
Sports betting
Nevada sports betting operators reported $30.1 million in revenue during May, this was an increase of 11% year-on-year. Sportsbooks accepted $527 million in wagers during the month representing a decrease of 6% compared to May 2022.
Wagers placed through mobile apps and online sportsbooks accounted for 67.9% of all sports bets during the month.
