The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has taken decisive action against 11 illegal offshore gambling websites: Bet Big Dollar Casino, Blood Moon Casino, DogsFortune, Grand Eagle Online Casino, Highway Casino, Jumba Bet Casino, Las Atlantis Casino, Ruby Slots Casino, Shazam Casino, SlotsRoom, and Spinfinity.
All 11 offshore operators were offering unlicensed gambling services in direct violation of Michigan law. In response to these violations, the MGCB has issued cease-and-desist letters to the websites, ordering them to cease operations immediately.
These platforms were found to have been violating the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.
“The Michigan Gaming Control Board remains fully committed to ensuring a fair, safe, and lawful gaming environment for all Michigan residents,” said MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams.
“Our actions today underscore our unwavering dedication to holding illegal operators accountable. Shutting down these unlicensed platforms is critical not only to maintaining the integrity of Michigan’s regulated gaming industry but also to protecting residents from predatory practices and unreliable gambling experiences.”
According to the MGCB, these offshore platforms expose gamblers to financial risks and “fail to adhere to state standards for responsible gaming, consumer protection, and data security, leaving users vulnerable to fraud, identity theft, and other financial dangers.”
MGCB Continues To Crack Down On Offshore Gambling Platforms
The MGCB has given the operators 14 days from receipt of the letter to cease operations in the Wolverine State. If the platforms fail to comply, the Board and the Michigan Attorney General’s Office will pursue legal action.
In February, the MGCB also sent cease-and-desist letters to the following operators:
- BetAnySports (BAS)
- CoolCat Casino
- Diamond Sportsbook International, d/b/a BetDSI.eu (BetDSI)
- My Dreams Casino
- NonStop Casino
- Palace of Chance
- Solar Game LTD and Busan Trade Office (Go Go Gold)
- WagerWeb
- Xbet Casino
Then earlier this week, the MGCB sent cease-and-desist letters to offshore operators Lucky Tiger Casino and Rich Palms Casino for conducting illegal gambling activities in the state.
An MGCB investigation found that the two aforementioned online casinos, operated by Alistair Solutions NV located in Curaçao, offer real-money gambling games such as slot machines, table games, and video poker to players in Michigan.
