Mississippi Sports Betting Handle Grows 5.4% to Reach $50.5 Million in March

The Mississippi Gaming Commission has released its latest monthly revenue reports revealing a sports betting handle of $50,546,885.86 for the month of March.  This marks a 5.4% increase on February’s sports betting handle of $47,807,573.85 but was still well short of January’s record-breaking handle of $67,707,627.70.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission has released its latest monthly revenue reports revealing a sports betting handle of $50,546,885.86 for the month of March.

This marks a 5.4% increase on February’s sports betting handle of $47,807,573.85 but was still well short of January’s record-breaking handle of $67,707,627.70.

March saw coastal sportsbooks in casinos in Biloxi, Bay St. Louis, and Gulf Port once again dominate the market with a combined handle of $33,341,862.86. Northern sportsbooks handled $7,122,824.54 in wagers while sportsbooks in central state counties posted a handle of $10,082,198.46.

Basketball was once again the most popular sport attracting $33,419,702.68 in bets accounting for 66.11% of the total handle. Football came next but only attracted $386,446.99 in wagers. The rest of the handle consisted of parlay bets across multiple sports and bets on other sports such as baseball and soccer.

The commission’s report also reveals a win percentage of 10.36% up 0.72% on the previous month. As a result, taxable revenue for the state amounted to $5,237,030.51.
