The National Football League (NFL) has announced that Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings, and FanDuel will become the official sports betting partners of the football league.
Once famous for being an opponent of all forms of legalized betting on their games, the NFL has inked partnerships deals that will see all three gambling firms use NFL trademarks and official league data. The deal will also see each firm integrate its own betting content and data into existing NFL media channels including the official NFL website and app.
In a press release issued by the NFL, Renie Anderson, chief revenue officer and executive vice president of NFL Partnerships said:
“As the sports betting landscape has continued to evolve in the United States, we have been thoughtful with our strategy and are excited to announce three partners who share the NFL’s vision and goals.
Working closely with Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel, we will provide fans new and different ways of interacting and engaging with the sport they love.”
Although the exact terms of the deal have yet to be revealed, the NFL has confirmed that Caesars will remain the league’s official casino sponsor.
The league also revealed that FanDuel will have access to league video footage and will work to integrate betting data into pre-game content for 7 regular season games in 2021.
DraftKings will remain the NFL’s daily fantasy sports partner integrating DFS content across all NFL media channels.
In the same NFL press release, Caesars CEO Tom Reeq is quoted as saying:
“Together, we will create new ways for football fans to share in the action of their favorite sport. Football season will be more exciting than ever now that fans can enjoy an enhanced experience at online casinos, in our sportsbooks, and online.”
Jason Robins, CEO, chairman and co-founder of DraftKings added:
“The way fans consume sports years from now will look drastically different, and it will be due in part to forward-thinking collaborations like our expanded relationship with the NFL.”
While Matt King CEO of FanDuel said of the new deal:
“On Super Bowl Sunday we got a glimpse at how powerful the combination of the NFL’s excitement and our platform can be in delivering an enhanced fan experience. This partnership provides our shared customers with a new level of innovation and unmatched premium content directly within our platform ultimately enhancing every gameday.”
