The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has issued a memo to all gaming license holders stating that all casino workers are now eligible for the Covid-19 vaccination.

The memo, written by NGCB Chairman J. Brin Gibson also states that any employees in the gaming sector who are currently on furlough are also eligible for the vaccine.

In the memo Gibson wrote:

“In conjunction with state and local health officials, the Board will assist in ensuring that every eligible and willing individual described in this notice has the opportunity to get vaccinated, and the ensuring effect this effort has on the resumption of gaming and other licensee operations, and will issue further notices as appropriate,”

He also noted:

“It is incumbent on each licensee to encourage its employees to get vaccinated,”

License holders were then given information as to where their employees can book their vaccines but noted that all those attending must provide proof of employment in the industry.

The news that Las Vegas casino workers are now eligible comes shortly after the Scarlet Pearl Casino in Mississippi offered to pay its workers as much as $300 to get a vaccination.
