Pennsylvania Posts $560.2 Million Sports Betting Handle for March

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released its latest monthly reports showing that the state's licensed sportsbook operators posted a sports betting handle of $560,259,181 for the month of March. The latest figures mark a 9% rise on February's handle of $509,547,820.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released its latest monthly reports showing that the state’s licensed sportsbook operators posted a sports betting handle of $560,259,181 for the month of March. The latest figures mark a 9% rise on February’s handle of $509,547,820.

Operators generated revenue of $41,029,269 up 19.2% on the previous month’s revenue of $33,171,120. The month’s total taxable revenue came in at $29,352,345 which saw the state net $9,979,797 in taxes.

Retail sports betting accounted for just 8.2% of the overall handle with retails sportsbooks taking in $45,922,828 in wagers. However, this was a 13.25% increase on February’s retail handle of $39,838,894. The online handle came in at $514,336,353 which was an 8.7% increase on February’s online handle of $469,708,926.

The market leader once again was Valley Forge Casino with a combined retail and online sports betting handle of $205,899,777. This was over $87 million more than its closest rival the Meadows Casino with a March handle of $118,410,130.
