Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Reports Record Revenue in March

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported Monday that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming along with fantasy contests for March 2025 was a record total of $574,534,002.

The previous high month for gaming revenue was in March 2024 at $554,625,294. The March iGaming revenue figure of $238,220,161 was more than $47 million higher than the revenue figure for March 2024 ($191,086,114).

In addition, the March iGaming revenue figure also surpassed the previous monthly high set in December 2024 ($223,652,312). Revenue totals include casinos, fantasy contests, and VGTs operated by other vendors.

Retail Slots, Table Games

Total tax from games revenue during March 2025 was $244,333,995. Retail slots led the gaming revenue list at $222,499,993, followed by iGaming slots ($179,505,875) and retail tables ($81,891,242).

However, March’s revenue from retail slot machines was $222,499,993, a 2.37% decrease in revenue when compared to the $227,891,331 generated in March 2024. The PGCB reported 24,373 slot machines in operation for March 2025, while 24,886 slots were available at PA casinos in March 2024.

Retail table games revenue for March 2025 was also $81,891,242, a decrease of 3.91% from March 2024 when revenue was $85,222,921. Total tax revenue from table games play during March 2025 was $13,711,363.

iGaming

As for iGaming revenue, casino games offered online generated a record amount of monthly gross revenue totaling $238,220,161 during March 2025. That’s an increase of 24.67% compared to March 2024 ($191,086,114).

Tax revenue generated from iGaming during March 2025 was $106,318,363.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course dominated its competition, reporting $90,742,972 in total iGaming revenue last month. Valley Forge Casino Resort came in a distant second at $64,783,597.

Sports Betting

Then there’s sports betting revenue. March 2025 total sports wagering handle was $842,856,961, 5.26% above the March 2024 total of $800,718,332.

The taxable revenue figure for March 2025 was $27,026,829, a 40.71% decrease when compared to March 2024, when taxable revenue was $45,581,570.

Tax revenue generated from PA sports betting during March 2025 was $9,729,658.

VGTs

Total adjusted revenue for March 2025 for video gaming terminals (VGTs) was $3,715,486, 0.64% lower than March 2024 when revenue was $3,739,380.

By the end of March 2025, all VGT Operators offered the maximum permitted five machines at each of the 74 qualified truck stop establishments, compared to five machines at each of the 74 establishments at this time last year.

Tax revenue collected from the play of VGTs in March 2025 was $1,932,053.

Fantasy Contests

Fantasy Contests revenue was $1,180,292 in March 2025, an increase of 6.91% over March 2024, when revenue was $1,103,979. DraftKings topped the list at $919,733, followed by FanDuel ($179,666) and Underdog Sports ($77,919).

Tax revenue collected from the play of Fantasy Contests in March 2025 was $177,044.
