The 55th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule was unveiled last Friday, announcing an exciting lineup of 99 live poker events – kicking off on May 28th 2024 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas.
With dates for all events confirmed poker players worldwide can now finally book the flights and hotels for their annual pilgrimage to Sin City to chase the dream winning millions of dollars playing poker.
Starting on July 3, the prestigious World Series of Poker Main Event (a $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament) invites players to four initial rounds running until July 6, with the opportunity for late registration up until Level 7.
The climax of the Main Event will unfold on July 16 and 17 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas. The previous year’s event was remarkable, drawing in 10,043 participants, a record turnout. Daniel Weinman from Atlanta emerged victorious, securing $12.1 million, an unprecedented top prize in the history of the Main Event.
For its third consecutive year, the WSOP will light up the Strip, continuing its legacy after a memorable 16 years at the Rio Convention Center. – Ty Stewart, WSOP’s senior vice president and executive director said:
Being the original main event in Las Vegas fills us with pride. We are setting our sights on breaking records, aiming for a bigger and better experience this year. With an unparalleled schedule and an additional 100 poker tables, we’re excited to welcome back legends and new faces alike. For poker enthusiasts, the World Series of Poker is an unrivaled experience
Last year’s Main Event winner Daniel Weinman will join the league of past WSOP Main Event winners in the Champions Reunion No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout event, which begins the series on May 28. This $5,000 buy-in event introduces a bounty system rewarding players who eliminate past champions with a spot in the 2024 Main Event.
The series continues to offer staple events like the Seniors Championship and the Ladies Championship, alongside new additions such as the $5,000 Seniors High Roller No-Limit Hold’em for participants aged 50 and above.
Although the series retains its rich variety in gaming options, buy-ins now range from $300 to $250,000, reflecting a modest decrease in the average buy-in compared to previous years.
Highlight events like the “Monster Stack“, “Millionaire Maker” and “Colossus” tournaments are adjusting their schedules, offering three to four initial flights, mostly over weekends.
Additionally, the WSOP will host online bracelet events along with daily qualifiers for the Main Event. Last year, over 450 enthusiasts secured their Main Event seats through online qualifiers.
