Champions League heroes Paris Saint-Germain have renewed their sponsorship with 1XBet.
Shortly before beating Atalanta 4-0 in the opening game of their European title defence, the French giants announced their deal with 1XBet had been extended for three years.
1XBet will continue as the official betting partner of PSG with the brand’s logo displayed across LED boards and 3D carpets during matches at the Parc Des Princes in Paris.
The agreement also includes the production of joint content for PSG’s social media and digital platforms. Former PSG players will be involved in various activities through the sports betting app, providing experiences for supporters and commercial partners.
The club’s chief revenue officer, Richard Heaselgrave, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with 1xBet, a global brand that shares our ambition for innovation and international growth.
“Together, we have already achieved remarkable milestones, and this renewed agreement will allow us to further engage our worldwide fan base, create unique experiences, and continue to build on Paris Saint-Germain’s incredible momentum on and off the pitch.”
1XBet has a controversial history and three Premier League clubs – Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea – broke off their contracts with the online casino after its UK website was closed down back in 2019.
The Sunday Times revealed the operator, based in Kenya, had been allowing illegal bets on minor leagues (in particular Under 16 basketball) as well as showing cockfights in the Philippines.
Despite criminal prosecution in several countries 1XBet has secured major sponsorship contracts like the current deal with PSG and it also remains the sponsor of FC Barcelona until 2029.
In 2024, Dutch journalism group Bellingcat and the platform Josimar reported that 1XBet allegedly organised thousands of live-streamed amateur games involving fake teams and children as young as 14 years old.
The company was founded in Russia by Roman Semiokhin, Dmitry Kazorin and a former Russian intelligence agent named Sergey Karshkov – now deceased.
