Danish Casino Revenues up by 92.3% Year-on-Year

The Danish gambling regulator, Spillemyndigheden, has released its latest monthly report revealing that during the month of September, the local gambling industry generated €584 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR).

The latest figures mark an overall increase of €18 million or 3.2% when compared to the same period in 2021. It also brings the year-to-date GGR for Danish gambling operators to €4.9 billion, an increase of 8.9% from the €4.5 billion reported in the first nine months of 2021.

Sports betting was the only vertical to report no change in GGR year-on-year. Meanwhile online casino GGR grew by €30 million from €207 million in September 2021 to €237 million in 2022. Gaming machines revenues increased by 73% from €496 million in September 2021 to €858 million in 2022.

The biggest increase, however, was reported by land-based casino operators who generated €260 million throughout the month, a 92.3% increase on the €135 million reported in the same period in 2021.
