The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has approved two consent agreements resulting in three fines issued to two gaming operators totaling $280,825.
11-year-old girl cashed vouchers at casino
Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County was issued with two fines of $160,000 and $100,825 while the third fine of $20,000 was issued to Pilot Travel Centers and PJF Southeast, operator of two Video Gaming Terminal establishments.
The PGCB found that Mount Airy had on three occasions allowed patrons under the legal age of 21 to gamble on the casino floor.
The three instances were:
- An 18-year-old placed wagers at two slot machines
- An 11-year-old gambled at 10 different slot machines and also cashed two vouchers
- Two 13-year-olds gambled at slot machines alongside their mother
As result of these breaches of licensing conditions, Mount Airy was fined $160,000.
The company was also fined $100,825 for failing to file 32 corporate or individual renewal applications by statutorily mandated due dates. This led to a failure to meet a condition of the company’s slot machine license.
The PGCB also found that Pilot Travel Center and PFJ Southeast failed to notify the board of a change in control of its Video Gaming Terminal (VGT) property’s license and to have a principal owner licensed. As a result of this infraction, the board fined the company $20,000.
