Swedish gambling regulator Spelinspektionen has banned two unlicensed gambling websites that were found to be marketing their products and services to Swedish gamblers.
Both sites had information on gambling services available in Swedish
The two websites in question are luckwins.io and chilli777.com.
According to Spelinspektionen, the owner of luckwins.io claimed to be operating the website under Gibraltar gaming licence number GB3451457. However, the Gibraltar Gambling Authority had no such record. The second site owned by Mondy Game provided no information on any gaming license or company information.
Spelinspektionen found that both website had information in Swedish clearly indicating that both were marketing towards Swedish gamblers. There were no protocols in place to prevent Swedish people from registering and creating an account.
Spelinspektionen said:
“According to the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate’s strategy, we prioritise measures that contribute to gambling taking place with the players who have a Swedish gaming license.
The Swedish Gaming Inspectorate therefore clarifies who engages in illegal online gambling by publishing decisions on bans on our website.
The news of the bans follows the announcement last week of a revamped self-exclusion website. Spelpaus.se was completely redesigned to make it easier for users to self exclude and find the relevant information for gambling helplines.
