United Kingdom Gambling Commission

The UK Gambling Commission has announced the suspension of the operating licence of bet-at-home.com Internet Limited following an investigation that uncovered activity that breached the Gambling Act.

The breaches listed by the Commission include suspected social responsibility failures and the non-implementation of the correct anti-money laundering procedures. As a result of its findings, the Commission has stated that the company may now be considered unsuitable to hold an online gambling licence in the UK.

In its statement, the Commission said:

“In accordance with section 118 (2) of the Act the Commission has determined to suspend the above operating licence.

We have made it clear to the operator that during the course of the suspension, we expect it to focus on treating consumers fairly and keeping them fully informed of any developments which impact them.”

The statement went on to note that customers with accounts at the company’s websites, bet-at-home.com, bet-at-home.co.uk and uk.bet-at-home.com, will still be allowed to access their accounts and withdraw any funds.
