Gambling operator 888 Holdings has withdrawn its online sports betting products from the New Jersey market with immediate effect.

Players attempting to access sports betting products through the NJ website or app yesterday were informed that they are no longer available.

Customers who have existing balances in their accounts can log in to withdraw those funds or use them at either 888casino or 888poker. Any bets that have been made for sporting events that have yet to be completed will be honored, but no new bets can be made.

No company announcement has been made as of yet regarding the reasons for the withdrawal from the New Jersey market.

The withdrawal came on the same day that the company announced the sale of its bingo business to Saphalata Holdings Ltd., a member of the Broadway Gaming group for $50 million (€44.2 million).
