The latest monthly revenue report from the Colorado Division of Gaming has revealed that the state’s licensed sports betting operators accepted $313.2 million in wagers during the month of June.
The latest figures represent a drop of 13% on the $360.3 million wagered in May. Mobile sports betting accounted for just over 99% of all wagers as online sportsbooks accepted $310.3 million in bets.
Sportsbooks reported gross revenues of almost $6.8 million and a win percentage of just 2.2%. This was the second lowest win percentage recorded with only September 2020’s rate of 2% lower. As a result, adjusted revenue loss for the month was $1.9 million with August 2020 the only month in the state’s history with bigger net losses ($3.4 million).
Despite an overall net loss, the state still collected $286,280 in taxes for the month. This brings the year-to-date tax total to more than $6.2 million.
Baseball was the most popular sport at local sportsbooks as gamblers wagered over $106.4 million on the MLB. Basketball came a distant second attracting $44 million in wagers. Ice hockey was the next most wagered on sport with $29 million in bets ahead of tennis with $23.4 million in wagers.
Total wagers for the state since Colorado sports betting launched in May 2020 is now just over $7.6 billion.
