The Edmonton Oilers came from 0-3 down to beat the Florida Panthers 5-4 in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, keeping a $13 parlay with a possible payout of $270,000 alive.
The bet was placed by Drew Hirschman at DraftKings and included Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl, New York Liberty to win the WNBA, LA Dodgers to win the World Series, Oklahoma City Thunder to win the NBA Finals, and Edmonton to win the Stanley Cup.
The first three all came in, leaving Oklahoma and Edmonton left to land the big payout. DraftKings posted the betslip on its X account, as seen below, with a cashout offer of $58,321.94 before Edmonton’s win.
The sportsbook commented on X that it will have a new cash-out offer for Hirschman on Friday. The offer of $58k was down on a previous high of $123k after the Oilers won Game 1 of the series.
Oilers hit big odds in-play
At 0-3 down, the Oilers hit odds of +1300 to win the match at online sportsbooks. They scored 4 in a row to lead 4-3 before Florida evened it up at 4-4, sending the game to overtime. Leon Draisaitl scored the match winner to end the game 5-4. Draisaitl also scored in Game 1 OT and became only the third player to score two OT goals in a Stanley Cup series.
The Oilers also made history in their comeback win, becoming only the fourth team post-World War II to come from 3 behind and win in the Finals. They are now -110 to win the series, with the Panthers out to +261. With Game 4 back in Edmonton, the Oilers are -110 to get another victory, with the Panthers at +105 to go back in front in the series.
Thunder put bet at risk after Game 3 loss
Oklahoma was the strong favorite to win the NBA Finals before the series started at -650. They remain favorites to turn it around after losing Game 3, but are now priced at a more modest -220. The Game 3 loss ended another big bet, with Jay-Z reportedly staking $1 million on Oklahoma to win the series 4-1 at FanDuel.
DraftKings makes the Thunder -238 favorites to even up the series in Game 4, with Indiana +195 to upset the odds again and take a commanding 3-1 lead. The game takes place at Gainsbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana on Friday night. It seems likely that Hirschman will let the bet run, given he did not cash out when offered $123,000, and Oklahoma is well-fancied to turn the series around.
