Golden Nugget has launched its sportsbook in Virginia thanks to the company’s partnership with Virginia Sports Technology Group (VSTG). Virginia joins New Jersey, Michigan, and West Virginia to become the fourth state that the Golden Nugget Sportsbook now operates in.

Speaking of the launch in a press release issued through LinkedIn, Thomas Winter, President, Golden Nugget Online Gaming said:

“We are excited to go live in the Commonwealth of Virginia with our mobile sportsbook. We would like to thank our SWaM certified equity partner, Virginia Sports Technology Group, for their support in introducing our premium online sportsbook to Virginians. We will proudly be sharing our Virginia revenue with the 5 Historically Black Colleges and Universities”.

Dennis Cotto, Principal, Virginia Sports Technology Group went on to add:

“We’re very excited to be one of the first minority-owned mobile sports betting license owners in the country and partnering with a first-class operation like Golden Nugget Online Gaming. Just as important, our partnership with the 5 Historically Black Colleges and Universities of Virginia demonstrates our long term commitment to the Virginia Commonwealth”.

The Virginia Lottery issued an online gaming license to Golden Nugget on September 29th 2021 allowing the gaming company to launch its sportsbook at any point from that date onwards.

Golden Nugget is the tenth online sports betting operator to be issued a license in Virginia. The list of licensed Virginia sports betting operators now includes Betfair/FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars, WynnBet, Bally’s, Penn Sports, Unibet, and Golden Nugget.
