The latest revenue report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has revealed that the state’s licensed retail and mobile sportsbooks accepted a record $1.3 billion in wagers throughout the month of October.
This was the second month in a row that the state reported more than $1 billion in wagers following September’s handle of $1.01 billion. Sportsbooks also reported an increase of 62% in wagers as they comfortably beat October 2020’s figure of $803.1 million for the month.
The report goes on to reveal that the state, along with Pennsylvania, became the first to generate $1 billon in annual gross revenue directly attributed to online casino gaming including online poker.
Mobile sports betting accounted for 90% of all NJ sports betting activity as online operators reported receiving $1.17 billion in wagers. The latest figures bring the year-to-date online handle to $7.69 billion.
FanDuel was the online market leader accepting generating over $39.6 million in revenue, more than double its nearest competitor DraftKings who reported $15.9 million in revenue for the month.
Retail sportsbooks also enjoyed a stellar month accepting $124.2 million in wagers up 34% from the previous month bringing the retail year-to-date handle to $753.6 million.
New Jersey Casinos reported a gaming win of $237.5 million for the month up 27.6% from the same period in 2020. Internet gaming win reported by casinos and their partners amounted to $127 million up 35.8% from October 2020.
