PointsBet has announced that it accepted its first bet in Pennsylvania following a soft launch approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
This marks the tenth state that the Australian online bookmaker now operates in following successful launches in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, and Virginia.
The initial soft launch period is for three days from February 8th through 10th while the company expects a full launch to be approved by the PGCB in time for Super Bowl LVI which takes place on Sunday February 13th.
Speaking in a press release, PointsBet Group CEO and Managing Director Sam Swanell said:
“PointsBet launching in our 10th U.S. jurisdiction represents a very proud moment for our company, and I am especially grateful to our technology and compliance teams for their ongoing dedication and commitment. The PointsBet team is excited to continue to prove our reputation and consistent ability to deliver a world-class experience.”
The press release also revealed that the company would utilize its partnership with NBC Sports to promote the brand throughout Pennsylvania.
The news of the Pennsylvania launch follows the company’s announcement that it was the first gambling operator fully licensed and approved for Ontario’s iGaming launch on April 4th.
