Rory McIlroy is a +1000 favorite to win the US Open after successfully defending his title at the RBC Canadian Open.
After winning his last competition 19 under par, bookmakers cut the Irishman’s odds. McIlroy will tee off at 07:40 a.m. (ET) alongside Hideki Matsuyama, the 2021 Masters champion from Japan, and Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele.
Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm, the winner from the previous year, are tied for second place. Rounds one and two will be shared by Open champion Collin Morikawa and 2021 US Amateur winner James Piot, both of whom competed in last week’s contentious Saudi Arabian-funded LIV Golf Tour.
