The DC Lottery has revealed that sports betting activity and revenues increased both year-on-year and month-by-month in its latest monthly revenue report.
According to the report, local sports fans wagered $18.1 million throughout the month of March. This was a 19.1% increase on the $15.2 million wagered in the same period in 2022. The report also reveals that the latest sports betting handle was a 43.7% jump on the $12.6 million wagered in February of this year.
Combined gross gaming revenues (GGR) from Washington sportsbooks came to $2.3 million for the month, an increase of 64.3% from the $1.4 million reported in March 2022 and a 91.7% increase on the $1.2 million reported in February.
Caesars Entertainment was the outright leader in the DC market reporting $912,090 in revenue from $6.5 million in total wagers. Meanwhile, the DC Lottery‘s Gambet took second place with revenue of $860,922 from wagers totaling $6.5 million. Next on the list was BetMGM with $296,738 in revenue from $2.1 million in wagers.
Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel, which runs a retail sportsbook at Audi Field, reported revenues of $157,505 from $949,055 in wagers. The Grand Central Bar and partner Elys Game Technology reported $38,343 in revenue from wagers totaling $395,684. The lowest revenue figure was reported by Cloakbook, a joint venture between Cloakroom DC and Elys. The operator reported $10,093 in revenue from $27,827 in wagers.
