BoyleSports has extended its sponsorship of the Galway Races, penning a new-three year deal with the summer festival.
The operator, one of the leading online casinos in Ireland, began its affiliation with the festival in 2022 which will now run until through 2027.
BoyleSports, an independent firm founded in 1982 with headquarters in Dundalk, will continue to sponsor the €110,000 day six feature handicap hurdle.
The listed race over 2m 6½f at the Ballybrit venue was won by Gordon Elliott’s The Wallpark in 2024, who went on to be purchased by billionaire tycoon JP McManus with good runs in Grade 1 company at the spring festivals.
The €93,000 Galway Tribes Handicap Hurdle, usually run on the Friday, will be moved to Saturday and feature under BoyleSports’ sponsorship umbrella too.
BoyleSports Deal Enhances ‘Quality And Excitement’ Of Galway Races
CEO of the Galway Races, Michael Moloney said: “This change gives horses that don’t make the cut for Thursday’s feature hurdle another valuable opportunity to compete, enhancing the overall quality and excitement of the week’s racing.”
Liam McKee, head of sponsorship at BoyleSports added: “This year’s renewal feels particularly special as it coincides with an exciting new chapter for BoyleSports as our major brand relaunch gets underway.”
The Galway Races starts annually on the last Monday of July and spans over a week, the longest of all race meets that occur in Ireland.
It was originally a two-day event with the first meeting in August 1869 before continuously extending over the following century, culminating in the birth of the week-long festival in 1999.
The festival draws an audience of over 150,000 every year and is the highlight of the calendar for local businesses as crowds and horses from all over the world flock to Galway.
The popular sports betting app is busy in the market as the Galway deal follows the announcement of a multi-year principal partnership with Premier League club West Ham United.
