Wynn Resorts have completed their purchase of the Wynn Mayfair casino – a private members’ gaming club in London that has had many celebrity guests on their books over the years.

Crown Resorts Sell Mayfair Casino To Wynn Resorts, After UK Gambling Commission Agree Deal

The famous private members’ club in London’s West End – Wynn Mayfair – has been acquired by Wynn Resorts, buying the exclusive gaming operation from Crown Resorts.

This Mayfair casino is located on 27-28 Curzon Street and has entertained a stack of big names over the years – including Princess Margaret, Richard Burton and even a former 007 in Roger Moore.

The sale will now see the Mayfair Casino come under the Wynn Resorts banner – having previously been with Crown Resorts – and be the latest venue to join the growing Wynn international casino portfolio.

It’s situated across two adjoining Georgian townhouses (see below) and currently has up to 20 gaming tables dotted over several floors. While there is also a stunning rooftop terrace and several private salons for their high rolling clients.

There is also a bar and dining room on the entrance level floor – that is opening to both private members and the public.

The Mayfair Casino has a long history, having been originally known as the White Elephant Club back in the 1960’s,

But was switched to a casino by John Aspinall – becoming one of the most famous betting sites in the UK for any high-profile visitors or influential characters in British high society.

Following its decision to leave the New York casino licensing process, this purchase showcases Wynn Resorts latest move to bolster their international casino and gaming operation.

Which may or may not be linked with a recent New York bill over problem gambling treatment.

In a company statement they said.

“There are uses for our capital more accretive to our shareholders, such as investment in our existing and upcoming developments.”

Plus Wynn Resorts went onto say the purchase was part of a wider plan for growth in both Europe and the Middle East – where Wynn Al Marjan Island is a UAE-based resort scheduled to open its doors at the start of 2027.

It’s not known how much the Mayfair Casino acquisition has cost Wynn Resorts.
