New Jersey Gambling Revenues Drop by 6.75% in June

Sports betting dropped by 44.9% during a quiet month of sport

The latest monthly revenue report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement shows that total gambling revenue for the month came to $401.5 million during the month of June.
iGaming revenue up by 24.4% year-on-year

This represents a drop of 6.75% on the $430.6 million reported during the month of May and a 2.2% increase on the same period in 2021.

Atlantic City’s nine land-based casinos generated $229.1 million throughout the month, a jump of 6.8% year-on-year but down slightly from the $233 million reported in May. This brings the year-to-date total for casino revenue to $1.31 billion, a jump of 18% on the same period in 2021.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa was the industry leader with nearly $54.3 million in revenue. It’s nearest competitor was the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with $44.6 million while Ocean Casino Resort was third on the list with $29.6 million.

Online gaming revenues reported by NJ online casinos and their partners came to $133.1 million. This was a jump of 24.4% year-on-year. This brings the year-to-date total to $814.5 million compared to $634.2 million for the same period in 2021.

Borgata once again remains the leader in the NJ online gambling sector. The company reported $40.5 million in revenue for the month while its nearest competitor Golden Nugget reported $35.7 million ahead of Resorts Digital with just over $28 million in revenue.

Sports betting

New Jersey sports betting revenue dropped by 44.9% as sportsbooks reported $39.2 million in revenue from $633.1 million in wagers. Of that figure $588.8 million came through mobile sportsbooks.

Meadowlands and its online partner FanDuel continues to lead the sports betting market with $21.4 million in revenue. Its nearest competitor, Borgata generated $4.8 million in revenue. Resorts Digital and its partners DraftKings and Flutter’s Fox Bet ranked third with $4.6 million in revenue.
