The latest monthly revenue report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has revealed that combined gambling revenues for the month of July came to $506.2 million.
The latest figures represent an increase of 5.3% on the same period in 2022 and a decrease of 10.7% on the $457.2 million reported in June 2023.
Casino win
Land-based casinos in New Jersey reported revenues of $290 million, a decrease of 3% year-on-year and a 20% increase against the $241.6 million reported in the previous month.
For the month of July, only three of the city’s nine casinos reported increases in casino win year-on-year.
- Borgata – $78.5 million – up 2.4%
- Bally’s – $17.2 million – up 2.3%
- Hard Rock – $53 million – up 0.3%
The six casinos that reported a decrease in revenues are:
- Ocean Casino – $37.7 million – down 6.6%
- Harrah’s – $25.2 million – down 4.5%
- Caesars – $24.8 million – down 1.2%
- Resorts – $15.2 million – down 16.1%
- Golden Nugget – $13.9 million – down 3.4%
- Tropicana – $24.1 million – down 13.6%
This brings the year-to-date total to $1.65 billion, an increase of 2.3% compared to the $1.61 billion reported in the first seven months of 2022.
Internet gaming
The month of July saw online gambling operators report $155.2 million in revenues, up 13.5% year-on-year. This was an increase of 3.5% on the $149.3 million reported during the month of June. This brings the year to date total to $1.09 billion, an increase of 14.2% when compared to the same period in 2022.
Sports betting
New Jersey sports betting operators reported accepting $587 million in wagers during the month of July down slightly from the $587 million reported in the previous month. Of that figure $561.6 million came through mobile sportsbooks while retail sportsbooks took in $25.3 million in wagers. This brings the year-to-date total sports betting handle to $5.7 billion. Revenues for the month came to $61 million marking a 35.6% increase year-on-year but a drop of 8.1% compared to the previous month.
