New Jersey Sportsbooks Take in Record-Breaking $1.6 Billion in November

Overall gambling revenues up by 9.4%

The latest monthly revenue report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has revealed that combined gambling revenues for the month of November came to $482.4 million.

The latest figures represent a drop of just under 1% on the previous month’s total of $487.1 million and a 9.4% increase on the total reported in November 2022.

Casino win

Land-based casinos in New Jersey reported revenues of $214.9 million, up by 0.2% year-on-year and down 5.78% compared to the month of October’s total of $228.1 million.

For the month of November, three of the state’s nine casinos reported increases in casino win year-on-year.

  • Ocean Casino – $31.4 million – up 1.4%
  • Hard Rock – $41.4 million – up 16.7%
  • Bally’s – $12.08 million – up 20.4%

The six casinos that reported a decrease in revenues are:

  • Borgata – $51.6 million – down 6.1%
  • Caesars – $17.5 million – down 7.7%
  • Harrah’s – $19.4 million – down 7.6%
  • Tropicana – $17.8 million – down 6.8%
  • Resorts – $12.4 million – down 0.2%
  • Golden Nugget – $11 million – down 2.8%

This brings the year-to-date casino win total to $2.62 billion, an increase of 1.8% compared to the $2.57 billion reported in the corresponding period in 2022.

Internet gaming

The month of September saw New Jersey’s iGaming operators report $171.6 million in combined revenues. This was an increase of 2.8% on the previous month’s total and a 17.4% increase on the $146.2 million reported in November 2022. This brings the year to date total to $1.74 billion, an increase of 15.4% when compared to the same period in 2022.

Sports betting

New Jersey sports betting operators reported accepting $1.62 billion in wagers throughout the month of November breaking the previous monthly record of $1.34 billion set in January 2022.

Of that figure, $1.56 billion of the month’s sports wagers were placed through online sportsbooks with the retail sector taking in $55.2 million. The year-to-date total sports betting handle in New Jersey now stands at over $10.6 billion.

Sports betting revenue came to $95.8 million marking a 19.2% increase year-on-year. This brings the year-to-date revenue total to $897.1 million, a 32.8% increase on the same period in 2022.
