Aqueduct’s Resorts World Racino Topped Mohegan Sun Casino In May Slot Machine Revenue
The Resorts World racino in Aqueduct hit the jackpot in May when new figures were released showing the New York City casino had generated a massive $57.5m in slots revenue.
This figure was confirmed by the New York Gaming Association and their state gambling data – meaning no other casino in the US made more last month.
Their $57.5m slots revenue towered above the $55.4m industry giant Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut.
Plus was well clear of the third-placed US casino Foxwoods, who are also based in Connecticut with $50.4m from the popular one-armed bandit machines.
Resorts World is controlled and owned by Malaysian-based Genting.

The racino at Aqueduct had only opened in October 2024, so it’s rise to the top of the slots revenue tree has been acclaimed by gambling industry experts.
Clearly thriving after tapping into the lucrative New York City market.
Michael Speller the President of Resorts World Casino said – “Resorts World’s model has maximized gaming revenue for New York State in a manner that has not been replicated by any other facility in the nation.”
While Joseph Weinert, the senior vice president of consulting company Spectrum Gaming Group added – “New York City gamblers have long filled their gambling desires in Atlantic City and Connecticut,”
“Now they have someplace right in their backyard, and they are going there in droves,”
This big performance followed on from state lawmakers and Gov.Cuomo trying to legalize a fully-fledged casino in the state.
However, discussions between Genting and Cuomo over building a casino and convention facility fell down – which led to Cuomo seeking other offers to construct a casino in New York City.
The officials at Genting have since responded and now armed with the slots industry news that has seen the Resorts World racino revenue figures soar – suggesting they are still the best option to run a fully functionally casino.
Resorts World’s May Revenue Means a $40m Support For Horse Racing and Education
The news of their increased revenue was also welcome news for the horse racing industry this resulted in a $40m support.
In addition, there was also a $25m support to education in the area.
However, despite this $57.5m slots revenue, this wasn’t the Resorts World’s highest generating month. As this came in March when the firm amassed $59m in revenue.
Since then their revenue has dropped in April and May, but their May tally of $57.5m was still enough to top the best Connecticut sports betting sites and casinos – Foxwoods and Mohegan.
