West Virginia Sports Betting Handle Drops to $155.2 Million in February

The West Virginia Lottery Commission has revealed that the state's sports betting handle dropped to $155,216,869 for the month of February.

The West Virginia Lottery Commission has revealed that the state’s legal sports betting handle dropped to $155,216,869 for the month of February.

The February figures mark a 17.9% drop on January’s handle of $189,009,164.

Online sportsbooks took in $144,096,743 in wagers throughout the month making up 93% of the state’s total handle. Retail sportsbooks took in just $11,120,126 in wagers which was a 45% drop on January’s retail handle of $24,701,423.

West Virginia’s operators posted a combined total revenue of $1,551,488 generating tax revenue of $653,670 for the state.

Hollywood Casino Sportsbook in partnership with Barstool Sports was the market leader with a handle of $82,324,972 well ahead of FanDuel Sportsbook at Greenbrier that posted a handle of $52,036,190.
