Best Connecticut Sports Betting Sites & Apps 2025
The legislation included provisions for the issuance of three sports betting licenses; two for the state’s recognized tribes and one for the Connecticut Lottery.
As a result of the legislation, the Mashantucket Pequot tribe and the Mohegan tribe have partnered with DraftKings and FanDuel respectively and have launched both retail sportsbooks and mobile sports betting apps. Following an extensive application process, the Connecticut Lottery chose Rush Street Interactive as its sports betting partner and has since launched its PlaySugarHouse app in the state.
The Connecticut sports betting industry is regulated by the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) Gaming Division. The department is responsible for all industry oversight including the issuance of licenses.

What about online poker & live poker in Connecticut?
Online casino gaming was included in Connecticut’s recent gaming expansion bills allowing the state’s tribes to launch iGaming products at the same time as the sports betting launch.
In theory, this means that online poker is legal. However, neither of the online casinos in operation currently have an online poker room or have indicated any desire to open one. Although, it is technically possible for online poker to launch immediately, it’s more likely that the tribes will focus their energies into sports betting and online casino table games for the foreseeable future.
There’s a very good chance that online poker will arrive in the state at some point, but it could be some way off for now.
