Best Kansas Sports Betting Sites & Apps 2025
In March 2021, the senate passed SB 84 that would have legalized sports betting in the state. The bill then went to the house where it failed to gain enough votes to pass. Three other sports betting bills were also introduced during this legislative session, but none made it through a committee review.
However, the bill was reintroduced and amended further before it passed the House in May of 2022. It was sent to a Senate committee who approved the legislation. The Senate then gave its approval voting 21-13 in favor and it was signed into law that same month.
The bill allows Kansas casinos to open retail sportsbooks on their properties. It also allows each casino to partner with sports betting providers to launch mobile sports betting apps that can be accessed from anywhere in the state.

Daily Fantasy Sports in Kansas
In May of 2015, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed a bill that legalized Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) in the state. HB 2155 dealt with DFS contests, charitable gaming, bingo, raffles, and the lottery.
The bill had near complete support from legislators as it passed the house by 98-21 and the senate by 37-1.
There are only two regulated operators currently in the state. These are DraftKings and FanDuel.
What about online poker in Kansas?
There is no regulated online poker or casino gaming available in Kansas. The last time the online industry was addressed was back in 2013 when legislators sought to pass a bill that would ban all forms of online gaming. Bill 2055 was created with a view to protecting the bricks and mortar casino industry but failed to gain enough support in the house.
It’s unlikely that we will see online poker legislation any time in the near future.
